Lovettsville Community Center
Project Synopsis
During an ADA accessibility assessment for Loudoun County, VA, the design team recommended the county explore an option to build a new, single level community center rather than repair and refurbish the existing, antiquated center. As the design process progressed the scope of work was extended to include an addition to the existing pool house as well as a renovation of the existing space.
The new, approximately 18,000 SF community center included a gym, fitness room, workout room, senior room, six preschool classrooms and a commercial kitchen along with administrative offices. Phased construction allowed for the existing community center to remain open during construction, which lasted 24 months. Once completed, the project was awarded LEED Silver.
