Project Synopsis
Founded in 1968, the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) is the national professional society for Physician Assistants (PA) which advocates and educates on behalf of PAs and patients to improve the quality, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness of patient-centered healthcare. This project relocated the Association’s headquarters to a new building located in a high profile Alexandria business district. LSY was involved in intensive space planning efforts to improve workflow productivity, collaboration, and the proximity of related groups.
This fit out provides open and closed offices, a conferencing center, media and teleconferencing areas, and a high tech media room for the production of videos. Distance learning areas feature smart boards, projection screens, and a special lighting system to control light levels during multi-media presentations. To brand the AAPA and enhance organizational image, LSY’s design of the elevator lobby and reception area utilizes transparent walls to showcase the Academy’s logo as a key feature of the design.
