Project Synopsis
Commissioned by The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) to redesign their administrative suite on the 5th floor of Building 31B, we embraced the opportunity to create a space that reflects NINR’s vision for a more vibrant and collaborative work environment. The original design, with dark finishes, limited natural light, and isolated rooms, posed significant challenges to communication and staff engagement. Our approach centered on transforming the suite into an open, bright, and welcoming environment that fosters teamwork and innovation. To achieve this, we introduced a spacious central area that encourages collaboration and replaced dark finishes with lighter, modern materials to enhance natural light. The reception area was reimagined to be more spacious and inviting, offering a warm first impression for visitors and staff alike. The new layout also improves accessibility and connectivity, eliminating the isolating corridors that previously hindered movement and visibility. By blending functionality with aesthetic appeal, we’ve created a workspace that inspires and energizes its occupants. This redesign reflects NINR’s mission and values, providing a fresh, dynamic setting for its important work.
