Wolfe Street Building North Wing

Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD

Project Synopsis

LSY assisted the University with securing funding for this LEED Gold project. The project was undertaken in a partially-occupied building and required careful phasing efforts. The modernization involved the upgrade of six floors of laboratories, including BSL-2, public health labs and specialized trace metals and proteomics, as well as HVAC systems and infrastructure. LSY’s design features open labs for increased light penetration, efficiency, flexibility and increased work space for future use.

Sustainable features include heat recovery and rain water collection, and others. Throughout the design process, LSY worked with the School of Public Health to establish sustainability goals for this and future projects. This project served as a platform to elevate and redefine their laboratory design standards.
